Richard Burchill

Dr. Richard Burchill is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute.  Prior to this he was the Director of Research and Engagement for TRENDS Research & Advisory, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Previously he was Director of the McCoubrey Centre for International Law at the University of Hull, UK.  He has advised, researched and taught on a wide range of issues in global governance and human security.  He is the author/editor of nine books and the author of over sixty other contributions to academic journals, book chapters, and think tanks publications around the world.   He has been a visiting professor at universities in Canada, Germany, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  His work has been used for training by international organisations and he frequently appears in the media.  He is a Senior Advisor to Accessible AD, a UAE start-up working to promote accessibility for people of determination. He held a similar position at the Bussola Institute from 2020 to 2022.
